Dr. M.S. Ramaiah, a visionary, educationist, industrialist, and philanthropist, established the Gokula Education Foundation (GEF) in 1962. Under this foundation’s umbrella, M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) was founded in the same year. Dr. M.S. Ramaiah, an accomplished entrepreneur by the end of the first decade after independence, recognized the pivotal role of education in shaping the socio-political and economic landscape of the country.

Understanding the limited opportunities for professional education, especially in fields like Engineering and Medicine, Dr. M.S. Ramaiah embarked on the mission to provide quality education to bright and talented students. Thus, GEF and MSRIT were established, pioneering efforts in private, self-financed technical education.

Today, GEF oversees eighteen institutions, including MSRIT, each reflecting Dr. M.S. Ramaiah’s vision, ideals, and goals. Our commitment to excellence is evident in our rankings – No. 67 among 1249 Engineering and No. 17 among 91 Architecture Institutions in India, as per MHRD, Govt. of India, 2022.

We take pride in our collaborations with 46 industries, fostering real-world learning experiences for our students. With an average of 350 publications per year, we contribute significantly to the body of knowledge in various fields. Our robust placement record, with an average placement percentage of 96%, reflects the trust employers place in our graduates.

Furthermore, we hold accreditation from NAAC with an ‘A+’ grade and a score of 3.28, underscoring our commitment to academic excellence. Additionally, all our academic departments are accredited by NBA under the new process, ensuring that our programs meet the highest standards of quality and relevance.
