IIT provides fellowships to applicants in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry, and biotechnology.

The sixth IIT brotherhood member, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, was founded in 1994. IIT Guwahati’s academic program started in 1995. The institute currently offers B.Tech., B.Des., M.A., M.Des., M.Tech., M.Sc., MBA, and Ph.D. programs in all major engineering, science, healthcare, management, and humanities subjects through its eleven departments, seven interdisciplinary academic centers, and five schools.

The following positions in the project “Development of Indigenous Technology for Extraction of Critical Minerals, Including Rare Earth Elements, from Overlying Strata of Northeastern Coalfields” at the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Guwahati, are accepting applications for an online interview.

Total Amount (Rs.): 44,910/- (Pay Recommended: Rs. 37,000 + Rs. 6,660/- HRA Required + Rs. 1,250 Medical Required)

The appointment will last for 3.5 months, ending on July 14, 2026.

Qualifications: GATE-scoring M.Tech in Chemical, Mechanical, Energy, Metal Lurgical, Material Science, or Relevant Engineering disciplines.
MSc in Chemistry, Physics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Material Science, and related fields with NET or chosen by national level exams administered by the central government department and its agencies/institutions. (Relevant topic experience is desirable.)

There won’t be a separate call letter addressed to candidates. However, those who have been shortlisted will receive an email with the interview link.
